One integration, every payment method — one orchestration platform

Offering several payment methods usually means integrating each gateway separately — slow and costly. Encomage built a payment orchestration platform: merchants integrate once and reach many methods, with rule-based routing, code-free method control, an SDK and deep analytics — all behind a single gateway.

Payment orchestration — one integration connecting to many providers

THE CLIENT

A fintech building a multi-provider payment orchestration platform

The client operates in payments, building a platform that sits between online merchants and multiple payment providers. Their proposition depends entirely on the engineering underneath it: merchants must be able to connect once and reach many payment methods, route transactions intelligently, and manage everything centrally — which is the platform Encomage was engaged to design and build. (Client identity withheld under NDA.)

The challenge

What wasn't working

Accepting multiple payment methods is a problem that compounds. Every provider a business wants to offer is another integration to build, maintain and reason about — and the cost of that sits in three different places.

  • Every payment method is another integration. To offer customers several ways to pay, a business normally integrates each gateway on its own — time-consuming to build, expensive, and a growing maintenance load as providers and methods multiply.
  • No central control over payment methods. Changing which methods appear at checkout typically means code changes and re-integration, so the merchant can't react quickly to costs, regions or provider issues.
  • No cross-provider visibility. Without unified analytics across providers, there's no clear picture of how transactions and payment flows behave — making it hard to optimize fees, balance provider load, or improve acceptance.

The solution

What we built

Encomage designed and developed the platform so that a single integration replaces many — with routing, control and analytics built in behind one gateway.

Payment routing engine.

Built a routing engine that selects the gateway for each transaction based on configurable conditions and rules — giving control over payment flows for purposes such as balancing load across providers, optimizing fees, or improving payment acceptance.

Rule-based payment-method management.

Merchants can define rules that show or hide specific payment methods on their site — with no code changes and no repeat integrations.

Deep payment analytics.

Built-in analytics that give the client a transparent view of transactions, providers and the behavior of payment flows — turning routing into something that can be measured and tuned.

Client SDK.

Developed an SDK that simplifies and standardizes how the platform is connected on the client's side, making one clean integration the whole job.

Rule-based routing configuration selecting a gateway per transaction (anonymized, demo data)

One rule engine, every transaction routed. Configurable conditions pick the gateway for each payment — to balance provider load, optimize fees or lift acceptance — without the merchant touching code. (Anonymized; provider names generic.)

THE RESULT

What we delivered

Encomage delivered a payment orchestration platform that collapses many gateway integrations into one. Through a single connection to the platform, a merchant reaches multiple payment methods; a rule engine decides how each transaction is routed and which methods appear, with no re-integration; and built-in analytics make the whole flow visible enough to act on. The result is a single, controllable gateway in place of a patchwork of separate integrations.

One integration, not many

Merchants connect once and reach multiple payment methods through a single gateway.

Code-free control

Rules govern routing and which payment methods show — no code changes, no repeat integrations.

Decisions backed by data

Deep analytics give a transparent view of transactions, providers and payment-flow behavior.

Routing flexibility

Configurable rules support balancing provider load, optimizing fees and improving acceptance.

See It In Action

Payment analytics dashboard across providers (anonymized, sample data)

Cross-provider visibility in one place. Built-in analytics show how transactions, providers and payment flows behave — turning routing into something a merchant can measure and tune. (Sample data shown.)

Client SDK — a single-call integration code snippet with generic placeholders

One clean integration, standardized. A client SDK makes connecting the platform a single, repeatable job — instead of building and maintaining a separate integration per gateway.

Payment-method management — rules showing or hiding methods at checkout (anonymized)

Code-free control over checkout. Rules decide which payment methods appear — by cost, region or provider status — with no code changes and no re-integration. (Anonymized.)

IN THE CLIENTS WORDS

The payment platform received positive feedback and was commended for the UX design. The fintech company appreciated their solutions and project support, which contributed to a fully functional website with custom functions for end-user needs.
