THE CLIENT
Allcontrols works with organisations on compliance and audit — expertise delivered, until then, one engagement at a time. To scale it, the firm wanted a platform of its own: a way for clients to do that work digitally, with the firm's specialists alongside them. What it needed first wasn't code. It was a clear, buildable definition of the product — and a team able to deliver it.
The challenge
Deep expertise in a regulated field doesn't translate itself into software. The client needed its domain knowledge turned into a precise product definition, and a delivery capability stood up around it — without becoming a software company in the process.
- A specialist domain to translate into a product. Regulated workflows carry rules, roles and dependencies that can't be left to interpretation mid-development. They had to be specified in enough detail to be built correctly the first time.
- No blueprint, no delivery team. The vision was clear; everything between the vision and a working product was not. No specification, no solution design, no team assembled — the gap between knowing the work and having a platform.
- A product that had to be right from the start. In a field built on trust, structure and access control aren't features to retrofit. Getting the foundations right upfront mattered more than shipping fast.
